Semester 2, Week 4 (Part 1) A, B, C, D-signer

 This weeks task was to design a site with a water feature from your partner’s audio description of their idea. I found that way round easy but when I had to explain what my idea was to then afterwards I found that a challenge. My drawing got a fair few votes for fulfilling the brief but an interesting development is that I didn’t really mind about that..I’ve been working a lot on ego & am becoming better at determining the quality of something based on my own reckoning, not external validation.

Semester 2, Week 4: (Part 2) Sequential Sketches

This week I completed an exercise on sequential sketching. Moving through a site and documenting the journey in 10 separate 2 minute sketches. The exercise was a useful one. As we sketched as a group I noticed the noise everyone’s pens made became louder on the paper as the task went on. Back in the studio I looked at my own work and my lines had become thicker, more pronounced, more confident.

Semester 2, Week 17 (Part 1): Sequential style

  It took a bit of work but I found a style that really works for adding character to a sequential diagram. Initially I used to model from sketch up and used watercolour brushes to render it. I then uploaded different images, removing the background with the “select: Similar” tool and deleting on photoshop. The mix of painted style and collage makes the piece look playful and communicates an impression of how the space will be used.

Week 8: (Part 1) General Patton

  I found out how to create my own patterns on photoshop and practised by block-filling this plan view of a design I’ve done on Cad. Happy with the patterns, need to check how to remove backgrounds without dulling the image..still learning! Oh I went back to this and added shadow once I learnt how :)
